BTCCSquare news:

Akash Network is gearing up for a significant transition as it deprecates its current Cosmos SDK-based chain. Founder Greg Osuri revealed plans to migrate to a new network that can better secure the platform, with evaluations underway for potential destinations both within and outside the Cosmos ecosystem.

The ideal network must offer robust security, DEEP liquidity, and a thriving community while maintaining IBC compatibility for cross-chain interoperability. This strategic shift aims to strengthen Akash's infrastructure as demand for decentralized GPU and compute power surges.

Originally launched as a Cosmos-based chain, Akash Network operates a decentralized marketplace connecting AI and cloud infrastructure providers. The project gained traction in 2023 after integrating Nvidia GPU support through its Mainnet 6 upgrade, positioning itself as a cost-effective computing solution.
